Central Sahel: 
your help is
urgently needed 
to fight hunger

The people of Central Sahel – the countries of Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger – are in the grip of severe food crisis.

As many as 6.5 million people do not know where their next meal will come from. They need urgent help, please help us fight hunger.

Children and families across the region were already at high risk of hunger because of climate change. A recent upsurge in fighting has only worsened the situation, with more people being forced to flee their homes in the hope of finding safety elsewhere in the country.

WFP is the world’s leading humanitarian agency working in Central Sahel

On any given day, we have up to 5,600 trucks, 30 ships and nearly 100 planes on the move around the world. WFP is working to deliver emergency supplies of food to Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger, and also to rehabilitate land to grow food, improve access to clean water, and provide meals for children in school.
