The evaluation was commissioned to inform WFP Iraq CSP operationalization and the design and implementation of resilience-building activities.  It focused on assessing the relevance, relevance-gender, coverage, coherence, effectiveness, efficiency, sustainability and connectedness of the Livelihood Support, Asset Creation and Climate Adaptation Activities in Iraq.

Between January and June 2016, WFP Aviation moved 8,808 mt of cargo through airlifts and airfreights. During the same period, the United Nations Humanitarian Air Service (UNHAS) transported passengers to more than 270 locations across 17 countries.

Between January and June 2015, UNHAS operated flights in 17 countries, serving more than 300 scheduled destinations.

This latest food security analysis shows a deterioration in food security in Sierra Leone compared to February 2019, with the total food-insecure population increasing from 34 percent to 47.7 percent. This implies that almost half of the population of Sierra Leone (3,921,752) are not consuming enough nutritious diet to live a healthy life.

The evaluation covered all WFP activities implemented between January 2018 and June 2022 under a transitional Interim Country Strategic Plan (Jan 2018-June 2019)  and the CSP. It assessed WFP’s strategic positioning, its effectiveness in contributing to strategic outcomes, the efficiency of CSP implementation and factors explaining WFP’s performance.  The evaluation concluded that:
