The Climate Risk Insurance for Livestock Farmers project strives to aid farmers in securing financial resources for purchasing fodder during scarcity, high prices, or challenging conditions like extreme drought and extended winters.
Kenya is on the frontlines of the climate crisis. Severe droughts are often followed by heavy rain and flooding – forcing thousands of people from their homes, destroying livelihoods and degrading land.

The handover ceremony was attended by WFP Representative and Country Director in Tajikistan Adham Musallam, Russian Ambassador to Tajikistan Igor Lyakin-Frolov and Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Tajikistan Sobirzoda Nurali Mirali.

US$5 million to improve food security in Tajikistan in 2021
WFP depends on river transport to reach rural and remote communities during the rainy season, when roads become inaccessible. However, due to a deterioration in the security situation along the White Nile, WFP has had to suspend its barge movement between Adok and Malakal as the waterways have become inaccessible, to the detriment of communities in the firing line.

This report presents the efforts, good practices and learnings identified from WFP’s policy engagement and provision of technical assistance for National Nutrition Programme for School Children in Indonesia, Program Gizi Anak Sekolah (Progas). The programme, which was operational between 2016 and 2019, funded through the Ministry of Education and Culture’s (MoEC’s) national budget.
The first cross-border movement took place on 16 June carrying 50 metric tons of essential food assistance from Egypt to Sudan. The assistance will help to alleviate the suffering of thousands of people who have become highly vulnerable due to the conflict.
The establishment of the humanitarian corridor is led by WFP, in partnership with Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
