Recognizing the wages lost due to disasters during the monsoon period which runs from the beginning of July to end September 2020, the scheme will support 2000 casual labourers engaged in agricultural work in Jatrapur and Ranigonj Unions under kurgram sadar and Chilmari upazilas of Kurigram district.

The contribution will enable WFP to purchase rice, pulses and other commodities that will be used to provide school meals and general food rations to more than 126,000 people in areas most affected by conflict and food insecurity. “China will stand with the people of South Sudan at this time of food crisis,” said H.E. Under this programme, nearly 21,000 girls between grade 6 and 10, enrolled in 288 government girls’ high schools in all the seven Newly Merged Districts and six sub-divisions will be assisted.
