From October to December 2022, rainfall across Indonesia was higher than the thirty-year long-term average. The La Niña phenomenon is predicted to continue until it reaches its neutral phase in mid-2023.

In the heart of her village in Pakistan’s southern province of Sindh, Husan once lived in a sturdy two-room house, with her sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren. Then, a year and a half ago, one of the biggest floods to ever hit the country in recent years turned everything upside down.

Political instability and social unrest in the Great Lakes and Horn of Africa regions have resulted in a continued flow of refugees into Malawi for over two decades, with the vast majority now residing in/around the Dzaleka Refugee Camp.   From May 2019, WFP provided in-kind/cash at half rations to all households.
