2022 was a year of extremes when it came to weather shocks. Record-breaking temperatures, floods, droughts and storms devastated many regions of the world. With the climate crisis accelerating, it is imperative that – in parallel to saving lives – we strengthen the resilience of communities and enable governments to build better risk management systems.

This document is the first regional strategy document produced by Programme unit in RBP to bring together both Resilience and Climate Change Adaptation, two important key areas of WFP’s work globally.

The evaluation aimed at providing evidence to inform the design of the next WFP CSP in Burkina Faso.

The contribution, received last September, supported the provision of food assistance to 53,110 Syrian refugees, nearly half the population living in Zaatari and Azraq camps during the months of October, November and December 2022.
