In South Sudan, over half the population, nearly 6.5 million people are expected to need food assistance as the country struggles for a fragile peace process and the challenges of climate change.

The brief uses key indicators to describe how the global food and economic crisis affects Kyrgyzstan’s food system, highlighting its current resilience and potential opportunities for building further resilience.

Earlier this month, an Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) report already warned that by November more than 90 percent of Gaza’s population will face severe food insecurity. It forecast that a large group would be in an “emergency phase” of need, while others would face “catastrophic” levels of food insecurity.

The funding will help more than 35,000 children and pregnant or breastfeeding mothers impacted by conflict, economic shocks, and climate events.
