 Global hunger isn't about a lack of food.

Thanks to a financial contribution from the European Union’s Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations department (ECHO), and in partnership with the National Civil Protection Agency (ANPC), WFP has begun distributing cash to help affected people purchase food.

WFP received in July 2023 the first tranche of the multi-year EU funding €5 million.

During her visit, Princess Sarah engaged with the Prime Minister, the First Lady of Cameroon, Government Ministers, UN agencies, Non-Government Organisations, rural women and girls’ associations, women leaders, and actors from the private sector.

The strategy outlines current and new approaches to Cooperating Partnerships (CP) management in WFP Regional Bureau Nairobi (RBN) and country offices in Eastern Africa region, in a consistent and systematic way.

We are glad that our contribution will help to avoid that vulnerable refugee families in Jordan are cut off from much needed food assistance”, the German Chargé d’Affaires, Dr. Florian Reindel, said.

The core purpose of the MTE was to examine if the JPGE III objectives and outcomes were on track and recommend possible intervention changes for the remaining timeline for phase III of the project implementation and to guide future initiatives with similar goals. The evaluation was intended for both accountability and learning purposes.

The World Food Programme (WFP) is calling for urgent funds to respond to the growing crisis in the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).  More than a million people have been forced to leave their homes in eastern DRC since January, bringing to 5.5 million the total number of internally displaced people (IDP) in the region.
