Shortage of funds has made it difficult for WFP to provide vital monthly food assistance to half a million refugees in Jordan. Jordan has achieved exemplary progress in various development indicators, however the country is facing significant challenges to achieve SDG2. The most pressing are: over-nutrition, micronutrient deficiencies, food instability, resource constraints and international fluctuations, demographic growth and the Syrian refugee crisis.

The overall objectives of Comprehensive Food Security Monitoring Exercise (CFSME) 2016 are to assess current levels of refugee food security, identify trends in needs and vulnerabilities, and recognise the most vulnerable refugees.
