Any loss of life in humanitarian service is unacceptable and I demand immediate steps to guarantee the safety of those who remain. Aid workers are neutral and should never be a target.

Since 2018, WFP has worked closely with national governments and partners on an integrated resilience programme in the Sahel countries including Burkina Faso, Chad, Mali, Mauritania, and Niger.

This donation will support 15,500 Ghanaians by providing them with essential digital skills and tools including mobile technologies, precision farming systems, and digital platforms, to help promote the adoption of smart agricultural practices, and encourage healthy lifestyles.

In collaboration with the Government, from 30 September to 04 October, WFP led a high-level climate and resilience mission including senior climate, development, and humanitarian officials from the European Union, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United Staes of America. The visit allowed partners to see first-hand efforts by the Government of Mauritania and WFP

The World Food Programme is rapidly scaling up its response on the Chad-Sudan border to support a surge of people fleeing from Sudan. Thousands of people are crossing each day from Sudan’s Darfur region into the small border town of Adré in Chad, with many arriving injured and with harrowing stories of the violence they have escaped.
