Food Assistance for Assets (FFA) aims to address the most food-insecure people’s immediate food needs with cash, vouchers or food transfers while improving their long-term food security and resilience. In 2019, over 9.6 million people benefited from FFA activities in over 50 countries.

WFP welcomed today’s opening of the border crossing between Egypt and Gaza, which enabled a first convoy of trucks to bring in urgently needed food, water and other supplies provided by the Egyptian Red Crescent and the United Nations for hundreds of thousands of Palestinians who have been struggling amid desperate conditions.

The funds will allow WFP to provide lifesaving food and nutrition assistance to nearly 370,400 affected people who are Internally Displaced Persons (IDP)’s and host families, pregnant or breastfeeding women, children and rural households experiencing food insecurity.
