Eight start-ups will showcase innovations aimed at tackling the global food crisis to potential funders, government officials, industry leaders, and local and international partners.

The first cross-border movement took place on 16 June carrying 50 metric tons of essential food assistance from Egypt to Sudan. The assistance will help to alleviate the suffering of thousands of people who have become highly vulnerable due to the conflict. The establishment of the humanitarian corridor is led by WFP, in partnership with Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

As Sri Lanka faces its worst economic crisis since its independence in 1948, WFP has rolled out high frequency remote surveys to provide regular insight into household food security. These briefs complement and expand on the results of the Crop and Food Security Assessment Mission, which refers to data collected for June 2022.

About 31,000 people (approximately 3,875 households) will receive 50 kg of rice and 1,350 Gambian Dalasis (around USD 26.5) per household per month for three months.
