In Benin, Ghana and Honduras, the project is expected to directly impact the lives of more than one million school children. The project will also promote local food production, benefiting smallholder farmers and provide school cooks with information on optimal nutrition for children.

  Without the ability to produce or import food, the entire population of Gaza relies on aid to survive. But humanitarian aid alone cannot meet the essential needs of the Gaza people.

Today marks 100 days since the arbitrary detention by de facto authorities in Sana’a of more than 50 personnel from the UN, international and national NGOs, civil society, and diplomatic missions. In addition, four UN staff members have been detained since 2021 and 2023.

This contribution comes as part of the “Food for Gaza” multistakeholder initiative led by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with key humanitarian actors – FAO, WFP and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies - and the Italian Civil Protection, which aims to strengthen collaboration and facilitate access to food assistance in order to alleviate the suffe

A historic drought - the worst food crisis yet - has devastated more than 27 million lives across the region. Some 21 million children are malnourished. For many communities, this is the worst food crisis in decades. October marks the start of the lean season and each month is expected to be worse than the previous one until harvests next year in March/April.
