WFP has anchored the Country Strategic Plan 2022-2026 to a complementary nexus approach, in line with the Cameroon National Development Strategy (NDS-30).

This decentralized evaluation (DE) was commissioned by the WFP Turkey Country Office and covers the Socio-economic Empowerment and Sustainability (SES) programme in Türkiye from July 2020 to February 2022. The SES programme uses a dual system of theoretical (vocational) and practical (applied) training. SES Programme covers 16 provinces in Türkiye.

WFP in partnership with the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education, will use this funding to strengthen the school feeding programme in Bonthe district by ensuring at least one food commodity in the food basket is sourced from local smallholder farmers.

The contribution, which comes at a critical time, will support 18,000 primary school children in 17 schools and provide market opportunities for 600 smallholder farmers for one year.  “Providing nutritious food to children at school in vulnerable districts is a pathway to quality education,” said Paul Turnbull, WFP’s Country in Malawi.

The programme, closely coordinated with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, was launched in 2016 to boost students’ health, learning and access to education.
