System-Wide Evaluation Summaries of UN Evaluative Evidence

Cover of food systems brief
A UNSDG System-Wide Evaluation Office-coordinated a joint evaluation evidence initiative with substantive contributions by IFAD, UNDP, UNFPA, UNHCR, UNICEF and WFP.

The United Nations Sustainable Development Group (UNSDG) System-Wide Evaluation Office, in collaboration with evaluation offices from IFAD, UNDP, UNFPA, UNHCR, UNICEF, and WFP, has produced a series of system-wide summaries of UN evaluative evidence (SEEs) to support engagement in the 2024 quadrennial comprehensive policy review of operational activities for development of the UN system (QCPR) discussions.

These five SEEs are based on extensive evidence drawn from 940 evaluations published by UN system entities between January 2021 and April 2024. They cover the following topics:

  • A visible shift – the independent resident coordinator
  • United Nations development system reform at the regional level
  • Unlocking quality funding
  • Towards sustainable food systems
  • Building a whole of system response to complex settings

The Office of Evaluation actively contributed to this initiative alongside the evaluation offices of UNDP and the UNFPA, participating in the management group.
