The mid-term evaluation covers WFP's Nicaragua Country Programme (CP) 200434 (2013-2018). It was intended for both accountability and learning and focuses on assessing: i) the appropriateness and coherence of the operation; ii) its results; and iii) the factors explaining the results.
The original CP design included the following activities: prevention of chronic malnutrition for pregnant and lactating women and children aged 6-23 months; school feeding; resilience building through food for assets; nutritional support to HIV patients; purchase for progress and capacity development.
The evaluation, which makes a number of recommendations for the future, was managed and conducted by a consultancy firm, with fieldwork taking place in February 2016.
