In 1961, a United Nations General Assembly established the World Food Programme (UN WFP) as the lead agency to respond to food emergencies and help combat hunger worldwide.

Six decades later, UN WFP has a presence in over 120 countries and territories to carry out our mission. We continue to bring lifesaving food aid to people displaced by conflict and made destitute by disasters, and help individuals and communities find life-changing solutions to the multiple challenges they face in building better futures.

But our work isn't possible without supporters like you. We are a 100% voluntarily funded organization, and every donation counts. Your gift can do more than make a difference, it can help save lives.

Thanks to our donors and supporters, we have been able to provide relief to exhausted populations and used food assistance to build pathways to peace and stability in conflict situations – work for which UN WFP was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2020.
