Families in Somalia are facing the highest levels of hunger they have suffered in over a decade. In the worst-hit areas, some children are already at risk of dying from hunger. Without urgent food and treatment, more people could be at risk of malnutrition.

Hunger in Somalia is increasing as the drought continues.

DONATE NOW

Women and children are bearing the brunt of drought and other climate extremes. They need your help now more than ever.

Somalia is at the epicentre of climate change, despite its negligible greenhouse gas emissions, and suffers recurrent extreme weather events that destroy lives and livelihoods. The devastating 2020-23 drought brought the country to the brink of famine and now floods are sweeping across parts of the country. These climate extremes will keep hunger in Somalia at record highs.

Mothers are being forced to make desperate choices. Thirst and hunger are driving them to walk for days to reach food and safety with their children in tow.
