Being accountable to the people we serve and those that provide funds, we need to measure performance and demonstrate results while meeting the needs of beneficiaries.
On a rainy winter’s day, 12-year-old Issa walks to school in Hama, Syria in a pair of old sneakers and a thin cotton sweater. This is all he has to fend off the weather, but even on the coldest days, nothing can keep him home from school.

Subject of the evaluation
Maize is the third largest crop in Rwanda and is largely produced by smallholder farmers (SHFs). Access to commercial markets is limited by excessively high levels of aflatoxin levels in their crops due to fungal infections which occur as a result of poor storage in humid conditions. Aflatoxin cannot be removed from affected crops and causes acute and chronic sickness.
This evaluation serves the triple and mutually reinforcing objectives of:
Accountability – the evaluation will assess and report on the performance and results of the School Feeding Programme in South Sudan.
Learning – the evaluation will determine the reasons why certain results occurred or did not occur to draw lessons, derive good practices, and provide pointers to learning.
