It's 07:00 and the city of Gonaïves is already bustling with activity. In the streets, dozens of motorcycles weave between the tap-taps – traditional, decorated vans used as mini-buses in Haiti.

WFP is collaborating with a range of public and private sector partners to develop climate risk finance programmes that help governments and vulnerable households to anticipate, absorb and rapidly recover from climate shocks.

The Stampriet project, supported by the Government of Namibia and Republic of Brazil, has yielded remarkable outcomes since its establishment. The school now produces approximately 5 000 chicken eggs monthly, a variety of nutritious vegetables and fully funds the salaries of two gardeners from the sale of fresh produce and poultry products.

The so-called “Kaizen” management approach supports an environment of continuous learning, integration, and innovation in a culture of continuous improvement, based on the idea that small, ongoing positive changes can reap significant positive developments.

“We look forward to working with China through this South-South cooperation and learning from their experience in building digital platforms to modernize agriculture,” said Jayoung Lee, WFP Deputy Country Director.

Sadiya starts her day early by letting out her goats from her backyard barn at Bokolmayo refugee camp, a collection of makeshift houses in Ethiopia’s Somali region. Whistling cheerfully, she leads them first to a water point nearby, then farther away to find a good grazing spot amid the cracked land.

“I am honoured to be named National Goodwill Ambassador for WFP - the United Nations agency that fights hunger worldwide, including my own country Bangladesh,” says Tamim Iqbal. “While Bangladesh has made impressive economic growth in the recent years, poverty is still rampant, especially in rural parts of the country.

The evaluation was commissioned to assess (a) whether targeted beneficiaries received services as expected and (b) if the project met its stated goals and objectives in line with the results frameworks and assumptions, and in contrast to the baseline and mid-term findings.
