WFP is committed to supporting the export of grain and other foods from Ukraine - a vital source of food for much of the world.
Ukraine’s agricultural exports are a vital source of food for countries in Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. Before the war, its food exports fed 400 million people each year. Since July 2022, WFP has directly supported Ukrainian food exports to food-insecure countries by chartering vessels under the now-expired Black Sea Grain Initiative and under the Grain from Ukraine initiative.
