This factsheet provides an overview of WFP’s assistance to vulnerable Lebanese and refugees in Lebanon.

WFP supports refugees with unconditional assistance for food and other essential needs through cash-based transfers and supports Lebanese affected by the economic crisis with in-kind food assistance.

As part of its commitment to support the Government in strengthening national safety nets, WFP provides technical assistance for Lebanon’s social protection system and supports the implementation of the World Bank-funded Emergency Social Safety Net (ESSN) to enable a unified Government owned social protection framework.

WFP also provides refugee and Lebanese students in public schools with nutritious snacks throughout the academic year, contributing to boosting their education outcomes and encouraging them to stay in school.

Additionally, WFP helps refugees and Lebanese improve their livelihoods through Food Assistance for Assets and Food Assistance for Training activities and supports enhanced resilience of the food system against current and future shocks.
