Factsheets of findings and recommendations from the case studies WFP’s regional Vulnerability Analysis and Mapping (VAM) Unit’s Gender and Markets Initiative aims to build the evidence base for the impact and the transformative potential of gender in West African food markets. 12 case studies carried out in West and Central Africa provide staff and partners with evidence on the gendered disparities existing in markets, households and communities in terms of access to capital, to productive resources and to decision-making power, amongst other issues. Studies were carried out in urban and rural environments, in communities affected by internal displacement and migration as well as by conflict or crisis. 2-page briefings of the reports in English and French can be downloaded below.
