Caribbean Food Security & Livelihoods Survey (April 2024)

Natural hazards and the compounding impacts of high costs of living continue to threaten food security and livelihoods in the English- and Dutch-speaking Caribbean.

While the level of food insecurity shows a slight, but steady decline over the last three years, the overall picture remains deeply concerning especially in the context of climate-related vulnerabilities.

Since 2020, CARICOM has been conducting the Caribbean Food Security and Livelihoods Survey to gather data on people’s livelihoods, access to markets and food security, providing a snapshot of these impacts over time. The survey aims to inform analysis and decision-making of governments and development partners in the region, building on the data collected in the previous six rounds, highlighting the impact of climate change and high cost of living on households’ food security and livelihoods.  

The survey includes a dashboard that provides quick access to the findings for all Caribbean countries covered by the survey.
