Assessment of Indigenous Persons with Disabilities in Two Provinces in Nepal

This assessment of Indigenous persons with disabilities was carried out to address the effects of intersecting identities on food security in two provinces in Nepal.

The overall objective of this assessment is to assess the situation of Indigenous persons with disabilities in Nepal and to focus on their vulnerabilities to food insecurity in Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. This requires an understanding of the scope of the challenges Indigenous persons with disabilities face in addressing their food and nutritional needs; and the effect multiple identities (i.e., Indigenous, disabled, gender) can have on access to food and well-being. The assessment also considers ways their inclusion could be both mainstreamed and targeted in programming related to food security and nutrition.
