Heavy rains and flash flooding started affect Albania on 31 January 2015, with the heaviest amounts, over 200 mm, ocuring along the border with Greece. The Southern areas of Albania, particularly Vlora and Fier, Berat, Elbasan and Gjirokaster districts have been the most severely affected.
