The Office of the Inspector General of the World Food Programme submits to the Board its annual report for the year ended 31 December 2013. The report provides an oversight perspective regarding WFP’s governance, risk management and control, and an overview of the activities of the Office of the Inspector General, including the Office of Internal Audit and the Office of Inspections and Investigations.
The Board takes note of “Annual Report of the Inspector General” (WFP/EB.A/2014/6-F/1) and notes that the oversight work performed and reported did not disclose any significant weaknesses in the internal control, governance or risk management processes in place across WFP that would have a pervasive effect on the achievement of WFP’s objectives. The Board encourages management to take advantage of the opportunities for further improvement highlighted in the report.
