In accordance with Article VI (2) (b) (viii) of the WFP General Regulations, this tenth annual report of the Inspector General covering January–December 2010 is presented to the Board for consideration. It gives an overview of the work undertaken by the Oversight Office under the direction of the Inspector General. Along with the strategy, standards, resources, activities and quality assurance, the document also illustrates the assurance opinion provided to the Executive Director and summarizes the findings and recommendations made in 2010. The annual work of the Oversight Office enables the Inspector General to express an opinion as to whether WFP’s internal controls, governance and risk management processes provide reasonable assurance that its objectives will be achieved.
