Sri Lanka - Minimum Cost of Nutritious Diet (October 2013 - September 2014), October 2015

The Cost of Nutrition Diet Analysis (CoD) is the cost of theoretical, simulated diet (food basket) which satisfies all nutritional requirements of a modeled family at the minimal possible cost, based on the availability, price, and nutrient content of local foods. The tool is a popular method to measure the populations’ affordability of nutritious diet. It is used as an advocacy tool to emphasize the importance of food-based nutrition interventions and to implement potential nutrition interventions and monitoring systems.
