It was intended for both accountability and learning and focuses on assessing: i) the appropriateness and coherence of the operation; ii) its results; and iii) the factors explaining the results. The evaluation assessed the following activities: 1) relief assistance to food insecure populations affected by natural disasters; 2) capacity strengthening (in the areas of emergency preparedness and response and social protection); 3) resilience-building through food assistance for assets; and 4) nutrition interventions including treatment of acute malnutrition and prevention of chronic malnutrition
The evaluation, which makes a number of recommendations for the future, was managed and conducted by a consultancy firm, with fieldwork taking place in April/May 2016
